World Road Safety Day
World Road Safety Day
World Road Safety Week is celebrated from January 11 to January 17 every year. Organized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, it intends to spread awareness of the importance of road safety, which is a major health concern for authorities and the government. According to a report, India accounts for 11% of the deaths due to road accidents in the world. To reduce the number of accidents due to speeding, drunk driving, potholes, carelessness, and deaths owing to road accidents, the ministry has come up with awareness week. Posters, banners, short films on road safety, and leaflet distribution are conducted to make people aware of the importance of road safety. In view of this I3C has planned to visit the nearby Driving school for learning the road signals sign board and safety measures instructions. On 12th January 2023, students of Grades III to V visited Royal Driving School. The Driving school trainer in charge has shown the signals and their meaning to all the children. Students got the idea about traffic rules and regulations.
